The Trojan Horse

Are you a regular computer user?, then you might have come across the famous term  "The trojan horse program". Trojan horse program is one of today's most serious threats to computer society. It is a mallicious application that is designed to enable hackers to remotely access the computer system.
Ever wondered why the virus got its name??, we have a dreadful history behind the name.Around 1200 b.c,the greeks were trying to capture the mighty city Troy, but they couldn't gain entrance into the city. So the clever greek  king odysseus ,built a big hollow wooden trojan horse sculpture and gave it as a peace offering to troy. The trojans celebrated, what they thought was a symbol of victory, and dragged the wooden horse into troy. The poor trojans didn't know, that the horse was filled with greek warriors and odysseus himself. When the trojans went to sleep, the warriors hidden inside the horse came out and slaughtered the trojan's.Thus the greeks gained victory over troy.

Trojan horse viruses also work in a similar fashion,by covering itself as a benevolent, beneficial program. The virus will remain unnoticed and attacks the computer's personal information and data stealthly. Thus the virus got its historic name "The Trojan Horse".

The Turkey bird

Have you ever wondered , why a turkey bird is called so! yes we have a funny history behind it. The turkey bird is served as a traditional food, by the people who celebrate the Thanks giving day.
The bird got its name because, the first of their species to arrive in england, did so in a turkish ship. The first people to see them called them turkey birds. and it is also said that, the turkish merchants used to sell this birds and so the name got attached to it. In the same way, the famous turkish rugs and turkey towel got their names too.
wonder what would have happened if the birds were imported from india, people might be eating "Indians" at christmas instead!!
ironically, the name of turkeys in the turkish language is  even more geographically off base, theyr'e caaled hindi, short for "bird from india". the turks thought that the birds came from india and kept this name. - crazy people!!

yet more histories are on the way to make you wow!!!!
